Dev Log 02 -Presenting and Future for Misho Character

With my finished base sculpt of Misho's Anatomy I needed to show of this design and my future ideas to the group. I felt like the best way to show this was to show off some base poses that represent moves he will perform in game play with a pose showing him wielding a sword mentioned in his GDD, a more crouched pose to show how the body could look hiding and the final showing mid jump or fall look. This can all be seen below but this doesn't show my future intentions with the character so I decided to do a quick paint over.

Below are some of the pieces I have that I will present to the group, with the poses as spoken about before yet also including the sketch over. This design was made referring to the same mood board that I used when making the overall shape of the character so the same sort of details and design choices from the first dev log can be seen, with the tail resembling a lions heavily and the face going more down the Fennec Fox route. The ears ive tried to still go down a unique route, adding the tufts at the end which were seen in the original design.
One other factor I wanted to get the groups opinions on was colour of Misho's fur, I wasn't personally certain on it myself so this was a good area to explore. In the colour palettes shown I have the original design of the purple fur with pink highlights shown but I've also gone down the routes of experimenting with more typical fur colours seen in typical animals that Misho took his inspiration from. It was at this point that I had also gained feed back from some of the group saying they would like to see the other designs with the more rat like eyes, with no pupils and only a glassy black eye. So right above you can see these redesigns that where done.
Feedback from Group and Further Work
The Team overall had little to say about the look of the character. The main takeaways were they liked the more natural fur colours, the black eyes and route I've gone down of the new character designs. There were some mentions of if the body proportions where right so I will make some adjustments in that area.

As you can see I've just kept working on refining the sculpt following the same design routes I had specified as before. Some minor changes where changed to the overall anatomy to make it work and seem believable but the overall work on Misho continues just as planned. Further steps I will start working on the Fur but this will be detailed in the Personal Log 01 as I am trying to learn completely new 3D techniques.
Silhouette
One thing I've kept in mind through out the work on Misho is that the character needs to look unique and different when compared to other similar game characters out there. Right now in my opinion the silhouette is no where near unique enough compared to other recognisable characters. I feel like the character is going down a nice route but I may go to the team and talk about possible extra stuff to add to him to improve the shape, this could include adding his sword in, clothes and maybe even a companion character.
